82 miles without sleep to raise money for the BDA

On Saturday 28th August at 5pm, Robin Shill and Jabulani Mhlanga will set out on an 82 mile ultra marathon starting at the Clock Tower in Leicester. The route takes them on a round trip which sees them go to the Bullring in Birmingham, the Millenium Square in Coventry and finishes at the Walkers Stadium in Leicester.

Added to the challenge of completing a route that is 3 and a bit times longer than the London Marathon, the pair will aim to complete this feat without stopping for sleep or any prolonged periods of rest. Wait, it doesn’t end there – Robin will be aiming to complete 82 challenges on route! The challenges are to make the event more fun, and you can get involved by suggesting challenges.

Why do something like this? It’s all to raise money for the British Deaf Association. They both have deafness in their family and lots of deaf friends so want to be able to give something back to charities like the BDA who promote deaf equality and sign language awareness.

Robin has recorded a BSL clip announcing the 3 City Challenge to reach out to their deaf supporters.

This is a fantastic challenge to even attempt. Check out the official 3 City Challenge website by going to www.3citychallenge.com.

The guys have also set up a Just Giving page so head on over and sponsor them. The Just Giving page is www.justgiving.com/3citychallenge.
